Fairleigh Dickinson University has been associated with the United Nations since its inception in 1945, and that tradition has deepened recently through our partnership with the Ambassador's Club at the United Nations and our UN Pathways Program. Each semester numerous ambassadors and diplomats visit our campuses for lectures and discussions with students. Interactive video conferences are also regularly broadcast from the UN to our two New Jersey campuses.

In 2002, Fairleigh Dickinson University became one of only three universities in the nation to be associated with the Department of Public Information at the UN as a non-governmental organization (NGO), bringing a wealth of programming and special access to our faculty and students. In addition to regularly scheduled DPI-NGO briefings, students attend briefings specially scheduled for FDU students. It is our intention to expand our interactive video conferences broadcast from the United Nations via FDU to include colleges and universities nationwide in the years to come.
