Global learning is by its nature a collaborative endeavor. The synergy of individuals and groups within our institution working together toward making global learning real is vital. Similarly, the synergy of our institution working together with other institutions and associations nationally and internationally enhances our ability to offer a meaningful global education to our students. Below are links to some of our most active partners in the global education process:
The American Council on Education Internationalization Collaborativehttp://www.acenet.edu/programs/international/collaborative/comprehensive/fdu.cfm – FDU is a member, along with approximately 50 other higher education institutions nationally, who are each committed to comprehensive internationalization. The Ambassador’s Club at the United Nationshttp://www.un.int/kamal/club/index.htm – FDU has established a close working relationship with The Ambassador’s Club, a group of current and former United Nations ambassadors who provide educational programming to selected colleges and universities. http://www.un.int/kamal/club/index.htm
The International Association of University Presidentshttp://www.ia-up.org – Fairleigh Dickinson has historic ties to the IAUP, and these have been reaffirmed recently when FDU was named as the archives site for the association records. http://www.ia-up.org/
The Department of Public Information at the United Nationshttp://www.un.org/dpi/ngosection/index.html accredits many groups as non-governmental organizations (NGOs), recognizing a confluence of the mission and interests of the UN and those of the NGOs, as well as the commitment to disseminate the work of the UN. In 2002 FDU became the third university in the nation to be recognized as an NGO at the United Nations. http://www.un.org/dpi/ngosection/index.html
