Nomination

Nomination and Selection

Generally, Global Virtual Faculty members are recruited through a nomination process. Only a current member of the FDU faculty or academic community, or another Global Virtual Faculty member may nominate a GVF candidate. All nominations are completed on-line by submitting a nomination form . Nominees will be contacted upon receipt of the nomination form with further instructions.

Additionally, FDU will accept unsolicited applications from potential GVF under certain circumstances. If you wish to become a GVF but cannot complete the nomination process, go directly to GVF Application and follow the instructions. Each nominee must meet the following expectations:

  • Demonstrated intellectual expertise and/or practical experience in a specific field,
  • Ability to adapt to the course curriculum and Internet delivery modality,
  • Adequate English proficiency,
  • Access to appropriate hardware and software applications that allow consistent and effective web-based participation.

Additionally, each individual must agree to abide by the policies Fairleigh Dickinson University sets up for this program (see Program Description and Policies and Procedures). After receiving completed materials, specific opportunities for participation will be discussed with each nominee. GVF appointments will be made after review and approval of the relevant academic department and/or dean and administered by the Office of Interdisciplinary, Distributed and Global Learning (Global Learning). Assignment of a GVF to a particular instructor/course will only be made with the consent of that course instructor.

If you would like to nominate a colleague, please fill out the on line nomination form below.
