Global Virtual Faculty: New in Spring 2003

Global Virtual Faculty are professionals and scholars from around the world, who partner with Fairleigh Dickinson University's domestic faculty, and link on-line with our students, bringing a global dimension to the learning experience. Each year, new faculty participate in our exciting program. We welcome three distinguished faculty members in the Spring of 2003. (The maps are links to data about their homeland.)


Shlomo Ariel

Israel
  

photoISRAEL - Dr. Shlomo Ariel is Director of the Israeli Play Therapy Institute in Ramat Gan, Israel, and a Co-director and Therapist with the Israeli Integrative Psychotherapy Center. Dr. Ariel's career is very diverse and extensive. Throughout his career, Dr. Ariel worked as the Chairperson of the Israeli Association of Psychotherapy Integration, Director of Research and Academic Development and M.A. dissertations supervisor at the Israeli branch of Lesley College for Creative Arts Therapy. Dr. Ariel is widely published in the area, both in Israel and the U.S. Dr. Ariel holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from London University.


Ann Cattanach

UNITED KINGDOM – Dr. Ann Cattanach has worked in the field of play therapy and drama therapy for over a decade. She held such posts as Specialist Practitioner in Drama Therapy, Play Therapy, Family Therapy, Family Psychiatry and Family Support Centre; Child Care Consultant Therapist for Social Services; Child Psychotherapist and Course Director, Play Therapy, Surrey University. She is currently a freelance consultant/therapist in play therapy and drama therapy and Honorary Visiting Fellow, Department of Social Policy and Social Work, University of York. Her publications include Speech Communication in the Classroom, Play Therapy with Abused Children, Drama for People with Special Needs and Children's Stories in Play Therapy. Dr. Cattanach holds a Ph.D. from University of Surrey.


Niti Sampat Patel

photoINDIA – Niti Sampat Patel is a Lecturer at the Department of English, St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, India. Dr. Sampat-Patel has a keen interest in post colonial literatures in English. Her most recent publications include Erasing Africa: Myth and Memory in Apocalypse Now, Conrad at the Millenium: Modernism, Postmodernism, Postcolonialism, vol.2 and Postcolonial Masquerades: Culture and Politics in Fiction, Film, Video and Photography. Dr. Sampat-Patel holds a Ph.D. in English Literature and Film from New York University.
